Charles M. Scott Sr. President / CEO

Charles M. Scott Sr. was born in Kipton, Ohio in 1936.

He married JoAnn (Bodnar) Scott in June of 1961; they have two sons, Charles M. Scott Jr. & Robert A. Scott.

Charles Sr. attended Bluffton College and graduated from The Pittsburg Institute College of Mortuary Science in 1959 with an Associates degree.

In 1959, he began working for the former Bennett Funeral Home, originally on Adams St. and later located on Secor Road next to the former Showcase Cinam’s.

Charles Sr. was hired in 1971 by Janet VanWormer as Manager of both the Boyer-VanWormer Funeral Home on Secor Road north of Laskey Rd and the former West Toledo Chapel on Sylvania Ave. He began the process of purchasing the business in 1972 and assumed full ownership in 1978.  Then in the summer of 1985, Charles Sr. purchased the Bersticker Funeral Home from Herman Jr. and Jackie Riffner.

Memberships include the Ashland Avenue Baptist Church, the Triad Lodge, now Barton Smith Masonic Lodge, the Zenobia Shrine and the Mariner’s Unit Commodore of the Toledo Yacht Club.

Born in Toledo Ohio in 1962, Charles Jr. married Laurie A (Bocian) in August of 1985.

Charles Jr. attended Toledo and Sylvania Public Schools and graduated from St. Francis DeSales High School in 1981.  He attended the Scott Park Campus of the University of Toledo and graduated from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science in 1986 with an Associates degree.

Memberships include the West Toledo Exchange Club (25 year member) serving as President and Past District President of the former Northwest Ohio, now Ohio-West Virginia Exchange Club, the Triad Masonic Lodge, now Barton Smith Lodge, and the Zenobia Shrine.

Robert A Scott Funeral Director

Born in Toledo in 1963, Robert married Letta Scott in August of 1987 in Greece. 

He attended Toledo and Sylvania Public Schools and graduated from St. Francis DeSales High School in 1981. He then attended the Scott Park Campus of the University of Toledo and graduated from the Pittsburg Institute of Mortuary Science in 1990.   
 
Memberships include the Triad Masonic Lodge #708  F. & A.M., now Barton Smith Masonic Lodge # 613 F & A.M., serving as Past Master, Past High Priest, Past Illustrious Master, Past Commander of Toledo Commandery # 7 K.T., Fort Meigs Chapter, Toledo Council # 33 R & S.M., Night York Cross of Honor, Grand Representative of Ohio to the Country of Greece, Royal Order of Scotland, York Rite College.
