Teresa S.Y. Eng

Teresa S.Y. Eng, age 82, of Dublin, Ohio, formerly of South Toledo, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2026, at Dublin Retirement Village.

Teresa was born on September 20, 1943, in Vietnam to Kim Cheung Ng and Chiu Kwan. She graduated from Ling Ying Secondary School in Hong Kong in 1962. In 1967, she married the love of her life, William, and together they built a life centered on family, hard work, and devotion to one another.

Teresa worked alongside her husband at the Surf Supper Club, the restaurant he co-owned, while also dedicating herself to her role as a homemaker. She took great pride in preparing authentic Chinese dishes and pastries for her family and friends, sharing her love through every meal she created.

Beyond her passion for cooking and baking, Teresa was a talented seamstress and knitter. She enjoyed creating clothing, blankets, and other handmade gifts that brought warmth and comfort to those she loved. Her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for her family were evident in all that she did.

Teresa is survived by her beloved husband, William; her children, Linda (Bortman) Jung, Robert (Hilda) Eng, and Ronald (Soo) Eng; her seven cherished grandchildren, Nathan, Lucas, Michael, Jacob, Natalie, Hannah, and Chloe; and her five half-siblings, Millie Eng (Adriano Martinez), David (Ellen Chin) Ng, Anna Eng (Michael Parletta), Lily Eng (Matthew) Shine, and Matthew (Ellen Wong) Eng.

The family will receive visitors at the Bersticker-Scott Funeral Home, 3453 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo, Ohio, on September 19, 2026, from 10:30-11:30 a.m. The funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. followed by interment at Historic Woodlawn Cemetery. After the burial, family and friends are invited to join the family for a reception at Hong Kong Buffet, 3015 Glendale Avenue, Toledo, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Yee Hong Chinese Relief Association (mail to 2223 S Reynolds Rd., Toledo, OH 43614) or the Alzheimer's Association (5200 Upper Metro Pl #170, Dublin, OH 43017).

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff of Dublin Senior Star and Capital City Hospice for the exceptional care, kindness, and support they provided to Teresa and her family during her final days.
