Nancy Ruth Beal (née Martin), 85, peacefully passed away January 22, 2024. Nancy was born to parents Ralph and Helen Martin in Akron, Ohio on June 26, 1938. The youngest of three girls, she was sweet, adventurous, and had a keen sense of humor that she carried into adulthood.
After staying at home to raise her own three children, Nancy pursued a degree and became a mental health tech at The University of Toledo Kobacker Center, where she helped children and teens struggling with mental and emotional troubles. Her strength and resilience were only outshined by her boundless love for all living creatures, especially her family. She was a proud grandmother of seven, who she will forever be lovingly known as 'Nana'. She adored movies, art, reading, music, and theater, and was happiest when her house was full of loved ones eating her secret meatball recipe or nibbling on her homemade cookies. She always had an open ear and a shoulder to lean on, a special way of letting you know she was thinking of you, and was passionate about pursuing what was right.
Nancy is survived by her sister Marjorie Martin, her three children Richard Davis, Jana (Grant) Martin, and Brad (Lori) Davis, as well as her beloved grandchildren Amy Martin, Michael (Molly) Davis, Jacob (Katie) Davis, Hunter (Stephanie) Martin, Walden (Emily) Davis, and Sethly Davis. She is also survived by close family Marla (Bill) Baden, Cameron Conti, and Marty Hofbauer.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents Ralph and Helen Martin, her sister Marilyn Hixson, her husband Russ Beal, and her grandson Alex Martin.
The family will be having a private celebration of life at a later date.
