Michael L. Sigley
Michael L. Sigley, 63, of Toledo, Ohio passed in his residence after a short illness September 26, 2021. Born September 3, 1958, in Defiance, Ohio, to Arthur and Helen (Eiserle) Sigley. Michael graduated from Paulding High School and attended Purdue University. He also served in the U.S Navy from 1978-1989. He graduated from the Naval Nuclear Power School, and he served as a nuclear electrician on SSBN submarines.
Following his service in the Navy, Michael (or Mikey as he was known to his close friends) worked for SES Technical heading the Toledo office. His commitment and dedication to the customer quickly became the benchmark for the company. Michael would always tell his peers that "donuts make steel" because he knew the importance of operator support when trying to run a successful service organization. That is just one of the reasons that no matter where Michael worked, he always developed a fiercely loyal customer base and is something he was very proud of.
Michael then went on to work for The Modal Shop as a senior analyst in the AES group where he got to expand his technical capabilities and also attained his Category IV certification which is reserved for only a very select few in the field of vibration analysis.
Michael then spent the last 20 years working for IVC Technologies supporting both the Condition Monitoring and Advanced Testing segments of the company. As a Senior Analyst in the ATG group, Michael's experiential and technical expertise were invaluable. Toward the latter part of his career, Michael knew the importance of passing on lessons learned or as he called it "tribal knowledge" and was heavily involved with training for both employees and customers.
Michael enjoyed spending time with his family, wood working, reading science fiction, and watching and attending local sporting events with hockey being his favorite.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents. Surviving are his wife of 39 years, Margery (Verhoff) Sigley; daughters, Caroline (Mike) Reilly and Christina Sigley; son, Matthew (Sarah) Sigley; sister, Diana Shuler; and brother, Robert (Brenda) Sigley. Also, surviving are 5 grandchildren; Maizah, Bryson, Fiona, Declan, and Owen.
