Merl D Downs II

Merl D Downs II, 85 of Curtice, Ohio passed away January 29, 2021 in Mercy St. Vincent Hospital after a brief Illness. Born May 17, 1935 in Toledo, Ohio to Merl D and Gertrude (Zess) Downs I. Merl served in the US Marine Corp state side during the Korean Conflict. Merl was a welder by trade working for AP Parts for 30 years. Merl was and avid outdoorsman a great conversationist and above loved his family.

Merl was preceded in death by his Parents and brother, Lloyd Platts.
Surviving is his wife of 55 years Sharon (Dickens) Downs, daughters, Karen (Don) Curtis, Laurie (David) McFarland, Renae Shank, Wendy (Mike) Majewski, Bethanie (Rick) Felser, Cindy (Brian) Fairchild, sons, David (Sue) Downs, Randy (Kristi) Downs, 19 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and favorite furbaby Gidget Marie

The family will receive friends at the Bersticker-Scott Funeral Home 3453 Heatherdowns Blvd at Byrne Road on Thursday February 4, 2021 3-8 p.m. where services will be held on Friday February 5, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. Interment Toledo Memorial Park Cemetery.
