With the deepest love and gratitude, we celebrate the life of Linda Kay Rogers, our cherished Busia. Gone too soon, she was the heart of our family—a constant source of unconditional love, strength, and comfort to all who knew her. To know Busia was to feel truly loved; her presence was a gift we will carry with us always. She gave selflessly and leaves behind a legacy of warmth that will never fade.
For over a decade, Linda prepared weekly meals for the Bowsher football players and coaches. She began her career as a dental assistant before discovering her true calling in education, where she dedicated herself to teaching students with special needs. Over her 28-year career, Linda took immense pride in her students’ achievements and was honored with numerous awards recognizing her as an outstanding educator.
Linda was a lover of to-do lists, permanent markers, and a sewer of countless costumes. She was a bourbon enthusiast and a passionate supporter of democratic policies that promote human rights. In retirement, she embraced every opportunity to travel the world and, most importantly, to spend time with her beloved family and friends.
Busia’s contagious smile could be found on the sidelines of countless volleyball, soccer, basketball, and softball games, as well as orchestra and dance performances. A true crafting extraordinaire, she was the first person to call before a trip to Michaels—because she likely already had exactly what you needed. Above all, she was immensely proud of the children she and Bus raised together.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Joan and Harry Bak, and brother, David Bak. She is survived by her loving children, Burt (Marcy) Rogers and Amanda (Todd) Hasty; niece and honorary daughter, Jenny (Walt) Ryley; cherished grandchildren, Mia, Brynn, Solia, Alexander, Eliza and Oliver; sister, Melissa Nawrocki; cousin, Wendy (Aaron) Stykemain; Aunt Gloria (Chuck dec’d) Schlegel; special extended family, dear friends, and countless community members who knew her as Busia.
Family and friends will be received at Bersticker-Scott Funeral Home, 3453 Heatherdowns Blvd., on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, from 2:00–7:00 p.m., with a service to follow at 7:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Autism Society of Northwest Ohio in her honor.
