Joseph J Staunton Sr.

Joseph J. Staunton Sr., age 85 of Toledo passed away Tuesday March 2, 2010 in his residence. Born September 7, 1924 to Harry and Ida (Wery) Staunton in Mount Vernon, Ohio. Joseph served in the United States Army during WWII as a MP at Camp Perry. Joseph attended Christ the King Church and was an avid Ohio State and Cleveland Browns Fan. Joseph was a loving husband, father and grandfather to his wife of 65 years Mary whom he married on November 6, 1941, Daughter Pamela Pyle of Mountville, Pennsylvania, Sons, Joseph J. Jr., of Toledo, Harry M. (Nora) of St. Mary's, Ohio, John R. (Kathy) of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Walter F. (Sue) of Erie, Michigan, Edwin M. Staunton Sr. Toledo, Ohio., Sister, Agnes Walters, Mt. Vernon, Ohio, Grandchildren, 7, Great Grandchildren, 7. The family will receive friends at the Bersticker-Scott Funeral Home 3453 Heatherdowns Blvd at Byrne Rd Friday March 5, 2010 4-8 P.M. with Scripture services at 7:00 P.M. Funeral services will begin Saturday March 6, at 9:15 A.M. Followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. in Christ the King Church 4100 Harvest Lane. Interment will be in Toledo Memorial Park Cemetery. The family suggests memorials to Christ the King Church.
