JoAnne Elizabeth Lytle JoAnne Elizabeth "Toad" Lytle, age 81 of Toledo passed away Saturday June 5, 2010 in the Hospice of Northwest Ohio Toledo Center. JoAnne was born July 7, 1928 in Gibsonburg, Ohio to Chester and Freda (Strausel) Smith. She was a graduate of Gibsonburg High School and was a member of St. Patrick of Heatherdowns since 1964. JoAnne was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and lifelong friend to many. She spent many years enjoying the company of family and friends at their second home on Marble Lake, Michigan. In 1965 JoAnne was selected to make a TV commercial for Pillsbury Flour featuring her mother's Bake Off winning Peanut Blossom cookies. Years later she was honored again by receiving an award as the famous cookies were entered into the Pillsbury Bake Off Hall of Fame. JoAnne's brother, John Smith and sister, Margaret Wetzel, preceded her in death. Surviving is her husband of 63 years, Dean, Son, Thomas (Deborah) Lytle, Daughter, Kay (Richard) Walter, Grandchildren, Christopher Carsten, Rebecca (Seth) Lemmons, Deanna (Jon) Woolf, and Gregory Lytle. A funeral mass will be held on Monday June 14, 2010 in St. Patrick of Heatherdowns 4201 Heatherdowns Blvd at 10:30 A.M. with Father Dennis C. Walsh officiating. A private burial of JoAnne's ashes was held in Union Cemetery in Oak Harbor, Ohio. The family suggests memorials to St. Patrick of Heatherdowns or to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
