William E 'Bill' Beach

William (Bill) E. Beach William (Bill) E. Beach, 86, of Toledo, passed away August 31, 2013 in Hospice of Northwest Ohio Toledo Campus. William was born on July 15, 1927 in Toledo, Ohio to Edward and Helen (Cheney) Beach. He was a 1945 graduate of Macomber Vocational School and served in the Army during WWII. William was a sheet metal worker with Fred Christen & Sons for 14 years. He taught at the former Macomber Vocational School and became the Coordinator of the building and construction trades' apprenticeship program for Toledo Public Schools. William was a member for 39 years of Local 6 of the sheet metal workers union. He was a 55 year member of St. Petri Lutheran Church. William was also a member of the American Legion Post of Maumee, Ohio #320 and was an avid fisherman for many years. Surviving is his wife of 66 years Ruth (Biggs) whom he married on August 28, 1947; daughters, Judith (Bruce) Mead, Sue (Larry) Mead, Janet (Jim) Yeager, Peggy (Ken) Kissling, Carrie (Carl) George, son Robert (Deb) Beach, 10 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the Bersticker-Scott Funeral Home, 3453 Heatherdowns Blvd at Byrne Rd, Friday, September 6, 2013, from 2-8 p.m., where services will be held Saturday, September 7, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. A private family burial will take place at a later date. The family suggests memorials to St. Petri Lutheran Church or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
