Ursula J. (Kirschner) Campbell Ursula J. (Kirschner) Campbell, age 89, passed away on March 27, 2010 at Ridgewood Manor, Maumee, Ohio where she has lived since December, 2006. Ursula was born on December 16, 1920 in Bochum, Germany to Albert and Maria (Kuhl) Kirschner. Ursula arrived in the United States at Ellis Island aboard the U.S.S. Amerika on August 1, 1923, with her parents and sister Madeline. Settling in Toledo, Ohio. Ursula was a 1939 graduate of Central Catholic High School, where she was a member of the marching band. After high school, Ursula graduated from Warner College in Toledo. She worked as a hairdresser and was later employed at Doehler Jarvis during World War II. Ursula was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and was also active in many organizations including Whitter School Mothers' Club and PTA, serving as president and secretary of both, and the Girl Scouts of America where she was a scout leader. Ursula was an active member of Eastern Stars, belonging to Collingwood Chapter (now Fort Industry Chapter) O.E.S. She served as Worthy Matron, Secretary and Grand Representative to South Carolina. She was also active in the Emera Club, past Matrons organizations, and the Order of Rainbow for Girls where she was awarded the Grand Cross of Color. Ursula married Kenneth R. Campbell in March, 1946. She was a devoted homemaker, wife and mother. Her husband of 54 years precededes her in death, along with her parents and sister Madeline Nelson. Surviving are her daughters Donna M. (Larry) Crouch, Maumee, Ohio and Karen R. (Paul) Russell, Oak Harbor, Oh and Sebring Fl.; grandchildren, Keith (Debbie) Crouch, Toledo, Oh; Kerry Crouch, Springboro, Oh; Kendrick (Karen) Jesionowski, Kenton, Oh; Kevin Crouch (Jessica Zaenger), Toledo, Ohio; Melissa (Scott) Ellis, Genoa, Oh; and Tony (Carleen) Crouch, Jacksonville Fl.; and great grandchildren, Lindsay and Konner Crouch, Kyle and Haylie Crouch, Theo and Cam Jesionowski, Kaleb and Kolton Crouch, Trent, Trevor and Tyler Ellis, Kelsey and Sarina Whitmore and Zachary Meadows. The family wishes to thank the caregivers from Hospice of Northwest Ohio and Ridgewood Manor for their thoughtful care of Ursula and support for the family during Ursula's final months. The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, memorial tributes are sent to Hospice of Northwest Ohio. A private memorial service will be held to honor Ursula's memory.
