Ruth May Drouillard

Ruth May Drouillard, 84, born and raised in Toledo, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, January 27, 2010. Born February 19, 1925 to Paul and May Forche, was a Central Catholic High School graduate of 1943. Ruth was employed as a secretary at various businesses including Owens Illinois, the Toledo Catholic Diocese, and Heatherdowns and Sylvania Country Clubs. Ruth and her husband, Howard, were charter members of St. Patrick of Heatherdowns. She loved caring for children, and her grandkids meant everything to her. Her intersts and talents were many. She Likes to cook, bowl, knit, play pinochle and checkers, and tend to her lawn and flowers. Most of all, Ruth was dedicated to and proud of her membership at St. Patrick's, a testament to her faith in God. She actively served in their annual festival, as a Eucharistic Minister and participated in various social clubs, such as the Alter Rosary Society. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Howard J. Drouillard in April 1979, granddaughter, Suzette Johnson, brother, Paul Forche. Surviving are her four children, Judy (Ray) Forcier, Howie, Annette (Jim) McGowan, Patrick (Jennifer); brother, Robert Forche D.D.S. (Lou Ann); Grandchildren, Ray Forcier Jr., Erin McGowan, Morgan and Matthew Drouillard; Great-Grandchildren, Ryan, Courtney, Alexis, Devon, Savanna, Darrian Tyler; Great-great-grandchildren, Jaelynn, Isabell, Zachary; and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the Bersticker-Scott Funeral Home 3453 Heatherdowns Blvd at Byrne Rd. Sunday January 31, 2010 2-5 & 7-9 P.M. A Rosary service will be held at 7 P.M. Funeral services will begin in the funeral home Monday February 1st, at 9:30 A.M. followed by Mass of Catholic burial at 10:00 A.M. at St. Patrick of Heatherdowns. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Those wishing to give donations in Ruth's memory are asked to consider St. Patrick of Heatherdowns
