Roger Dale Speelman

Roger Dale Speelman, age 63 of Toledo passed away Tuesday February 2, 2010 in the University of Toledo Medical Center after a short illness. Born July 19, 1946 in Oakland, California to Dale Edward and Marilyn (Kaiser) Speelman. Roger attended two years a Libbey High School and graduated from E.L. Bowsher High School. He received his Bachelor's degree from the University of Toledo in Business administration. He served in the United States Navy. Roger worked for the City of Toledo in the Human Resource Department for 5 years, previously he had worked for the former Seaway Foodtown for 18 years. Roger was a lifetime member of Bethel Lutheran Church serving on church council. Roger was a University of Toledo and Ohio State fan and all Cleveland sports teams. Surviving is his wife of 43 years, Sally (Parker), daughters, Kimberly (Craig) Frantz, Julie Speelman, Granddaughters, Cassandra, KayLynn, and Kara Frantz, Sister, Sally Jo (William) Zak, Brother, Gary (Elizabeth) Speelman, also surviving are several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the Bersticker-Scott Funeral Home 3453 Heatherdowns Blvd at Byrne Rd. on Thursday February 4, 2010 2-8 P.M. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday February 5 at Bethel Lutheran Church 1853 South Ave. Toledo, Ohio. The family suggests memorials to Bethel Lutheran Church or to the charity of the donor's choice.
