Robert L Glasener Robert L. Glasener, 86 of Toledo, Ohio passed away Saturday July 23, 2011 in Hospice of Northwest Ohio Toledo. Robert was born on May 21, 1925 in Toledo, Ohio to Leslie and Leah (Dysert) Glasener. Mr. Glasener worked for the Dana Corporation as a Commercial Artist for 35 years. Mr. Glasener was an avid gardener and his house was on the Old Orchard garden tour. His house is known as "the one with the drinking fountain". Mr. Glasener was a Navy veteran. Bob was known for his love of animals, particularly his dogs. He was very creative and was known for his woodworking and furniture making skills. He was a wonderful photographer and showed a knack for artistic design. Bob loved to go to garage sales and was an avid watch collector. He loved to make and shoot muzzle loaders, and was an outdoors man and a member of the NRA. Bob had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to tell stories of his travels for Dana and his tour of Navy duty. He will be missed by his family and friends and neighbors in Old Orchard. Mr. Glasener was preceded in death by his first wife Nancy Jane (Woodbury) Glasener, daughter, Tamara Ann Nielsen. Surviving is his wife Barbara Glasener, son, Robert A. (Michelle) Glasener, step-son Ray Weber and step- daughter Sherry Tobin, grandchildren Barbara, Jason, and Samantha Nielsen, and step grandchildren, Garrett and Mia Garcia. Also surviving are 3 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Saturday July 30, 2011 in The Chapel of Peace in Toledo Memorial Park Cemetery, with a viewing at 11:00 A.M. and a service at 11:30 am. Entombment will follow. A reception will be held afterward at the Glasener home. The family is especially grateful to the nurses and staff at Hospice of Northwest Toledo and suggests memorials to Hospice in lieu of flowers.
