Patricia Ann Limpf

Pat passed away April 6th one week after her 85th birthday, at the Parkcliffe Community where she resided for the last year and a half. Pat was very involved with all three of her children during their school years. She was the Room Mother, Mother's Club president, and Girl Scout Leader. She was the "neighborhood car mom," always waiting in the rain or snow to pick up all the kids from school. Pat earned both her Bachelor and Master degree's from the University of Toledo. When her youngest daughter was in her last year of high school, she went to work at the Florence Crittendon Home after substitute teaching for several years in Toledo. In 1973 she began her career with the Rossford Public School System. She became one of the first teachers of Learning Disabilities in Wood County, when Public Law 94-142, the special education law requirements, passed in November of 1975. She was always interested in hearing from and about students from her past, and many sent letters and pictures to her as adults. Pat was a very active volunteer until the time of her husband Robert's illness, when she took on the role of fulltime caregiver. She was a member of the Maumee Valley Historical Society and a docent at the Wolcott House for many years. She also volunteered at the downtown Lucas County Public Library, and St. Luke's hospital. She was a past member of the American Association of University Women and Beta Sigma Phi International. Pat was a member of Calvary Assembly of God church. She will always be fondly remembered, for being that lady that drove a bright red 1949 Willys Kaiser Overland (Jeepster) for many years and loved it! Born to Florence and Sherman Reynolds, she passed away on a Good Friday just as her father had when she was fourteen years old. Her husband Robert passed away Christmas Day 2004. Surviving are her three children; Pam (Allan) Kagy of Springfield Ohio, Marti (Martin) Franco and son, Larry Limpf of Toledo. Granddaughters; Miranda Ann Franco of Washington D.C. and Melinda Kaye Franco of Cleveland Ohio, both of whom Pat adored. Last, but certainly not least, her beloved cat Simba.
