Marjorie May Dye

Marjorie M Dye, 91 of Toledo, Ohio went to be with the Lord on November 13, 2017 in the Heatherdowns Rehab and Residential Care Center. Marjorie was born in Toledo on August 22, 1926 to Ray and Irene (Goachee) Babcock. Marjorie grew up in Toledo with her parents and brothers. She married Thatcher Dye in 1944 and they went on to have three children. She worked in one of the cafeterias of Toledo Schools for 10 years and as a meat wrapper at A&P Grocery for 20 years. Marjorie touched so many lives with her laughter and kindness. Whether she was cooking for her company or offering the clothes off her back, she lived to serve everyone. She always made sure everyone was happy and taken care of, and she did it all with a smile. Marjorie loved playing bingo, taking care of her grandchildren, going to garage sales, and doing yarn crafts while listening to K100. She also enjoyed her time volunteering at Sylvania Senior Center. She was an avid coffee drinker and, even at the end of her life, coffee could be used to get her up and out of bed. Marjorie was preceded in death by husband, Thatcher, her mother and father, 6 brothers, 2 sisters, mother and father-in-law, daughter-in-law, son-in-law, a grandson, and a great-grandson. Surviving her are her daughter, Katherine Phillips, sons, William Dye, Samuel (Tamara) Dye, 12 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and 19 great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends for a showing at Calvary Church located at 1360 Conant Street in Maumee, Ohio on Friday, November 17, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. A service will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the church with burial services to follow at Toledo Memorial Park Cemetery. All are welcome for a luncheon following burial services at Calvary Church. A donation in Marjorie's name may be made to the Alzheimer's Association to help further research for a cure for dementia. The family has also set up a GoFundMe account to help cover funeral expenses at www.gofundme.com/marjorie-dyes-funeral-expenses.
