Marilyn Jean (Zimmer) Scarlett passed away on May 27, 2023, at Ebeid Hospice. The daughter of Charles

and Helen Zimmer, she was born in Cleveland on July 15, 1930. She graduated from Western Reserve

University in 1952. Marilyn married John Scarlett on August 29, 1953, and moved to Toledo to start their

life together. She was happy to find a home a Pilgrim Congregational Church. She loved the time spent

with her family. Marilyn was a loving wife, mother, grandma, and great-grandma and will be greatly

missed by all.

Marilyn was predeceased by her husband, Jack, in 2015. She is survived by their children, Susan (Jef)

Chaplin, Robert (Christine) Scarlett, and Katherine (d. Matthew) Edinger, eleven grandchildren, and

sixteen great-grandchildren. She is also survived by niece, Marilyn (d. Robert) Williams and her family.

There will be no visitation and interment will be private. Tributes may be made to the Gifts and

Memorials Fund of Pilgrim Church, Toledo, Ohio. In her honor, be kind to someone, read a good book,

and take a walk in a Metropark.
