Larry A. Waire

Larry A. Waire 72, of Toledo, Ohio passed away surrounded by family and friends on January 22, 2023 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio after a brief illness. Larry was born February 24, 1950, in Tiffin, Ohio to Lester and Margaret (Bogner) Waire of Republic, Ohio.

Larry was a 1971 graduate of Maumee High School/Penta County Career Center. He worked as an auto mechanic for over 50 years retiring in 2016. He enjoyed car shows, drag racing, camping, working on the house/yard, traveling, country concerts, going to movies, family gatherings and his happy place was the garage. Larry was known for helping everyone always willing to lend a hand. He was a devoted husband, loving father, uncle, cousin, nephew and a great friend to many.

Larry was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years Diana C. Waire and son Christopher Waire. Surviving is his daughter, Julie Waire (Chris Kaminski & Hannah Kaminski), step and half siblings, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins.

A special thank you to his care team at Hospice of Northwest Ohio for helping us through the last month with kindness and compassion.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 29, 2023 at the Bersticker-Scott Funeral Home, 3453 Heatherdowns Blvd at Byrne Road after 11a.m. with a memorial service at 3p.m. Inurnment will take place in Calvary Cemetery at a later date. The family suggests memorials to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
