Jerome J Tammarine

Jerome (Rocky) Tammarine departed this world on November 20th, 2023 at the age of 72. Rocky was born on June 28th to the late Frank & Bernadine Tammarine. He was a loving, supportive, and caring Father, Papa, Son, Brother, Uncle, Cousin, and Friend. Everyone who knew and loved him are deeply devastated by this unexpected and sudden loss.

Rocky attended Penta County Vocational High School where he completed the Auto Body program. He then graduated from Rossford High School 'Go Bulldogs!' in the class of '69 where he excelled at sports. He played football and wrestled for the Bulldogs where he played left defensive tackle and set many wrestling records for the Bulldogs where he led the team as their Captain. After graduating High School he acquired his certification to operate Heavy Equipment and Machinery.

Upon completing that program Rocky came back home to NW Ohio and started working at Jeep, where he got to work with his Dad. While they worked in different departments during their time at Jeep together, they met for breakfast before work many days throughout the week, which he loved. Rocky worked at Jeep until his early retirement. After retiring from Jeep he stepped into his proudest title & role, which he carried for the rest of his life, Dad, and what a Dad he was. Rocky was a very proud, devoted, loving, protective, fun, and supportive Father until his last breathe. Rocky loved his Daughter and Rocky loved his family more than words can express, and he loved to show it.

From a young age Rocky had a deep love and adoration for sports. Every week he loved cheering on his favorite teams; NY Yankees, The Ohio State Buckeyes, and the NY Giants. You could also catch him cheering on the teams of his loved ones each week as well, only if their win wouldn't mess up his teams ranking of course. Rocky also had a deep love and affinity for music, stand-up comedy, comedy, Mickey Mouse, pranks, aliens, and the great vastness of the Universe and our connection to it. Rather they realized it or not, Rocky always made it a point to pass down and share those loves & interests with ALL of his loved ones. So, in return those same interests that he loved, cherished, and impacted his life and his outlook could also be passed down to those he loved and cherished in his heart, which will live on forever in all of us.

Rocky was definitely one of a kind. A true individual that wasn't afraid to be his authentic-self, even if it went against societies standards. He was truly fearless. He loved his family, cracking jokes, laughing, being loud, roasting people, shootin' the shit, playing pranks, and of course, his beloved gum. You never had to wonder where you stood with him, because he would let you know. He had a heart of gold and has left a huge vacancy in the hearts and lives of the many people who love him.

Rocky came from a very large and loving family. He is survived by his Daughter: Melissa. Brothers: Tony, Danny, Chris, Matt, & Joe. Sisters: Paula, Tina, Dora, Lucy, Rita, Diane, & Rosie. Several Cousins, Nieces and Nephews. He is preceded in death by his Parents: Frank & Bernadine, Brothers: Mike & Noel, Sisters: Mary & Angie, Nephews: Steve & Chris.

The family would also like to give a special 'Thank You' to the amazing support and care from his aide, Debbie. We thank you for your hard work, consistency, laughter, and love you provided for the almost two years of your service. He loved seeing you every week and talking/laughing together.

The family will be having a celebration of life service held at Bersticker-Scott 3453 Heatherdowns, Toledo OH 43614 on January 7th, 2024 @ 12pm. Luncheon/Celebration to follow at the American Legion Post 2810 Airport Hwy, Toledo OH 43609. The family cordially invites you to both.

Since Rocky's death was untimely and abrupt we ask that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to help cover costs associated with his passing to https://gofund.me/6a9fc076 or in person at the luncheon c/o Melissa. We thank you in advance for your understanding and generosity.
