Donald D. Arnold Donald D. Arnold, 84 of Maumee, Ohio passed away August 3, 2012 in the Heatherdowns Rehabilitation & Residential Care Center. Mr. Arnold was born in Toledo, Ohio on February 15, 1928 to Harold H. and Arlene D. (Robinette) Arnold. Mr. Arnold was a 1946 graduate of Jessup W. Scott High School where he met his future wife of 63 years Barbara (Badenhope) they were married on February 19, 1949. Mr. Arnold graduated from the University of Toledo in 1959 with a music degree and a received a master degree in guidance counseling from Eastern Michigan. Mr. Arnold was a music teacher and driver's education teacher for the Washington Local Schools for 30 years retiring in 1987. Don served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict in the 16th Army Band in Germany. Don played with various bands in the Toledo area playing the Baritone Sax. Donald was an avid bowler and golfer. When he turned 80 he had his first Hole in one at the White Pines Golf Course in Swanton, Ohio. Don was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles, American Legion Post #18, Damascus/ Collingwood Lodge No. 643 F & A.M., Zenobia Shrine, Toledo, Council #33, and St. Petri Lutheran Church. Surviving is his wife, Barbara Arnold, Daughter, Cheryl (Robert) Rayfield, Grandchildren, Grant (Brenda), Garrett (Meghan) Rayfield, Great Grandchildren, Zoey, Alexis, & Leo Rayfield. The family would like to thank Pastor Vinciguerra for all his visits and prayers, Dr. Bhatia & Staff, Jason from Odyssey Hospice and everyone at Heatherdowns Care Facility who provided many interventions to improve and extend Don's life. The family wishes to thank Dave for his wonderful musical visits during Don's illness. The family will receive friends at The Bersticker-Scott Funeral Home 3453 Heatherdowns Blvd at Byrne Rd on Monday, August 6, 2012 2-8 P.M. where services will be held on Tuesday, August 7, at 10:30 A.M. Interment to follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park Cemetery. The family suggests memorials to St. Petri Lutheran Church or Odyssey Hospice.
