Craig R. Johnson, 67 of Naples, Fla formerly of Toledo, Ohio passed away July 2, 2018 from pancreatic cancer. Craig was born in Toledo, Ohio July 28, 1950 to Herbert and Catherine (Gibbons) Johnson. Craig served in the Army Reserve from 1972 to 1976. Craig was an electrician with Local 8 Union and with the Toledo Public School System where he served as President of AFSCME Local 272 for several years. He graduated from Bowsher High School in 1969 after being awarded the titles of All City Football ('68), All City Wrestling ('68,'69) and 3rd in district wrestling in '68. Craig is also in the Bowsher High School Athletic Hall of Fame. He was a phenomenal golfer with a single digit handicap and racked up over 5 hole-in-ones. His "Craigisms" always made him a joy to be with on and off the golf course. Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Susan (Edgington) Johnson, daughters, Jodi (Jason) McMaster, Katie Johnson, grandchildren, Blayne and Ryan McMaster, sisters, Beth (Larry) Fogh, Patricia Jacobs, brother, Ed (Karen) Johnson, sister-in-law, JoLynn (Elliot) Saunders, mother-in-law, Liz Edgington. Preceding him in death was his father-in-law Mort Edgington. A memorial service will be held at Christ Presbyterian Church, 4225 W. Sylvania Ave. on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at 11 a.m. A church luncheon will immediately follow the service. In lieu of flowers tributes can be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 8132 Secor Road, Lambertville, Michigan 48144.
