Cathleen “Cathy” Sue (May) Michelsen

Cathleen “Cathy” Sue Michelsen 61, of Toledo, Ohio was received into Jesus’s arms on Saturday December 11, 2021, in St. Vincent Mercy Hospital. Born January 6, 1960, in Toledo, Ohio to Warren and Marilyn (Emch) May. Cathy was a graduate of E.L. Bowsher High School in 1978 and attended Owens Community College.

Cathy started her work career as a secretary at State Ariel Farm Statics, Church Secretary at St. Petri Lutheran Church, Cathy became an Associate in Ministry thru SELECT-Seminary program sponsored thru the ELCA. Cathy became an associate minster at St. Petri Lutheran Church where she mentor prayer groups, she became the visitation pastor at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and also taught the Catechism Classes.

Cathy and her husband where members of St. Petri Lutheran Church for 36 years. Cathy was an avid reader and watching Gunsmoke and on Saturdays the Svengoolie show, Cathy was also an Ohio State Buckeye Fan.

Cathy was preceded in death by her parents, Warren and Marilyn May, father and mother-in-law Paul and Francis Michelsen, sister-in-law Louise Michelsen Eckel. Surviving is her husband of 41 years John Michelsen, daughter, Lauren (Thatcher) Goetz, son, Eric (Amy) Michelsen, granddaughter, Suzette Kathleen Goetz, sister, Dianne (Tom) Paul, brother, Jeff (Anita) May, Brother-in-Law, Terry Eckel, sister in laws, Dianne Evans, Nancy (Jeff) Wilbur, Robin (Duane) Beam.

The family will receive friends at the Bersticker-Scott Funeral Home 3453 Heatherdowns Blvd at Byrne Road Sunday December 19, 2021, 2-5 and 6-8 p.m. funeral services will be held on Monday December 20, at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow in Ft.
