Catherine E Schardt

Catherine E. Schardt, 60 of Erie Michigan passed away August 25, 2021, in her Home.

Born February 28, 1961, in Toledo, Ohio to Thomas and Myra (Hodges) Connors. Catherine worked as a bar tender for over 20 years in various bar establishments in England, Florida, and many bars in the Toledo Area. For the past 20 years she took care of her husband,entertained friends and made her house a home, a job that she loved as much.

Catherine also known to her friends as Cathy, Kate, and Katie, enjoyed along with her husband Joe, camping,canoeing and sailing on a boat that she named "No Pressure" (selected from her drink from her honeymoon). She and Joe were members of North Cape Yacht Club and enjoyed countless boat rides with many friends and family. Catherine also enjoyed always welcoming friends into her yard and home. She would always greet you with a water,ice tea,or something to drink and sit and have conversations for many hours. This would lead to the evening hours sitting around the fire pit for more talk and more entertaining by Kate.

On December 11, 2020 she got a trachea installed and a feeding tube to prepare her for the fight, with an aggressive throat cancer. This took away her ability to talk and eat (two things that she liked to do very much). Over the next 8 months,she put up a battle,but never conceded defeat,(something she would rarely do) to the cancer that would take her away from us.

Catherine was preceded in death by her parents,sister, Abby, brother, Patrick, brother-in-law Steve Miller,nephew Ben,Half-sister, Connie,and many Aunts and Uncles.
Surviving are her husband of 25 years Joe, sisters, Colleen Connors, Jeanne Miller,brother and sister in-laws,nephews,nieces and friends.

A gathering will be held on Friday September 10, 2021, from 4-7 p.m. at The Bersticker-Scott Funeral Home 3453 Heatherdowns Blvd at Byrne Rd Toledo, Ohio.

Catherine wanted everyone not to shed tears, but have a DRINK to remember her.
