Betty Jean Schmidt

Betty Jean Schmidt, age 84 of Toledo, Ohio passed away peacefully November 6, 2015 at NW Ohio Hospice surrounded by the love of her family and friends. Born July 18, 1931 to Virgil and Lucille Boardman. She married Arnie Schmidt who predeceased her in 2009 after 60 years of love. Betty was the eternal caregiver and bookkeeper. She shared her love and time with everyone and her family was the most important part of her life. She worked for both Bennington Heating and Air Conditioning and Cousino Communications, but her true love was her volunteer time given to St. Lucas Lutheran Church, Merickel-Farley Trout Club at St. Luke's Hospital; always friendly, giving and comforting others. She loved her dogs and would spend hours gardening, cooking and knitting. Most of all she loved, and is loved in return, by her children Pamela (Juri) Kudrasovs and Paul (Gayle) Schmidt as well as her broother David Boardman, her grandchildren; Andrea, Tera (Michael), Andrew (Jenna), Chelsey and Justin (Ashley). She was blessed with eight great-grandchildren. What a legacy she leaves to all whose lives she has touched. Friends and family are invited to gather on Tuesday, Nov 10th at the Bersticker-Scott Funeral Home from 2-8 pm at 3453 Heatherdowns Blvd at Byrne where services will be help on Wednesday, Nov 11th at 11 am.
